  South Central Railway will augment the following ten express trains with additional Coaches o­n permanent basis as per the details mentioned below:-

1.Train No. 17211 Machilipatnam - Yesvantpur Tri-weekly Kondaveedu Express will be augmented with two additional Sleeper Class Coach with effect from 18th July, 2014.

05.22913/22914 Mumbai Central-New Delhi-Mumbai Central AC Superfast “Premium” Express Train

The 22913/22914 Mumbai Central-New Delhi-Mumbai Central AC Superfast “Premium” Express Train has been extended to run o­n 23.7.14, 25.7.14, 27.7.14 & 30.7.14 ( 4 trips) when departing from Mumbai Central. and o­n 24.7.14, 26.7.14, 28.7.14 & 31.7.14 ( 4 trips ) when departing fromNew Delhi.

All these special trains will run as per the schedule notified earlier.

RAILWAY INTRODUCES AIR CONDITIONED SUPERFAST “SHREE SHAKTI EXPRESS”

For the convenience of passengers desirous to travel between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra stations, Northern Railway has decided to introduce a daily service of an Air conditioned superfast train no. 22461/22462 from 14-07-2014 from both the directions. This train service has been named “Shri Shakti Express” by hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.

The path and schedule of 22461/22462 ‘Shri Shakti Express’ will be as under:-


The 22461 New Delhi- Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra AC Superfast Express :

The 22461 Shri Shakti Express will depart from New Delhi at 5:30 pm daily to arrive at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 5:10 am the next day. Its maiden run will start from New Delhion 14-07-2014.

The 22462 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi AC Superfast Express:
The 22462 Shri Shakti Express will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 10:55 pm daily to reach New Delhiat 10:45 am the next day. Its maiden run will also start o­n 14/7/2014 from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway station.

 Consisting of o­ne first AC , five AC two tier and nine AC three tier coaches, the’ Shri Shakti Express’ will stop at Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot cantt , Jammu Tawi and Udhampur Stations enroute in both directions.


Prior to the introduction of ‘Shri Shakti Express’, Northern Railway has already extended the run of the three DEMU trains viz a viz the  74909, 74905 and 74907 Pathankot-Jammu Tawi  DEMUs  up to  Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station with effect from  04-07-2014.


Hence its pairing services  i.e. the 74909/74910, 74905/74908 and 74907/74906 DEMU trains have thus been provided stoppages at Udhampur and Chak Rakhwal Stations o­n extended portions in both the directions already from 04-07-2014 to serve the passengers.

Central Railway has decided to run 52 Reserved Special Trains and 38 Unreserved Special Trains during the ensuing Ganpati Festival to clear the extra rush of Passengers. The details are as under –

01033   Special will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai at 00.20 hrs for Six days (except Thursday) from 26.8.2014 to 10.9.2014 (14 trips) and will reach Madgaon at 14.10 hrs same day.

01034   Special will leave Madgaon at 14.40 hrs (Except Thursday) from 26.8.2014 to 10.9.2014 (14 trips) and will arrive Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai at 04.35 hrs next day.

WITHDRAWAL OF BINA HALT FROM 5.8.2014

Due to operational reasons, the 11449/11450 Jabalpur-Jammu Tawi- Jabalpur Weekly Express train will be diverted to run via Malkhedi-Agasod chord line, avoiding Bina station and provide halt at Malkhedi from05.08.2014 station as under:

The 11449 Jabalpur- Jammu Tawi Weekly Exp. train will depart from Jabalpur at 06.30 a.m. to reach Malkhedi at 12.25 noon the same day while in the return direction, the 11450 Jammu Tawi- Jabalpur Weekly Exp. train will depart from Malkhedi at 00.41 midnight. to reach Jabalpur at 08.35 a.m. the same day with two minutes stoppage in both the directions from 05.08.2014.

There will be no change in timings between Malkhedi- Jammu Tawi.

Railways extends 3 DEMU trains to Katra

The new rail section between Udhampur – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra has been opened for people from Friday.

The following DEMU trains presently running between Pathankot – Jammu Tawi to Udhampur will be extended to run to and fro Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

The 74909 Pathankot – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Daily DEMU train will depart from Jammu Tawi daily at7:45 AM to reach Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 9:55 AM the same day, while in the return direction, the 74910 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra- Pathankot Daily DEMU train will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 2:50 PM to reach Jammu Tawi at 4:55 PM the same day.

In order to clear extra rush of passengers during Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) examination, two RRB Exam Special Trains will be run between Santragachi and Secunderabad as per the following schedule:-

Train No. 08045 Santragachi-Secunderabad RRB Exam Special Train will depart Santragachi at 04:05 pm o­n 11th July, 2014 (Friday) and arrive Secunderabad at 05:30 pm o­n the next day.

In the return direction, Train No.08046 Secunderabad- Santragachi RRB Exam Special train will depart Secunderabad at 03:30 pm o­n 13th July, 2014 (Sunday) and arrive Santragachi at 07:15 pm o­n the next day.

 Enroute, these special trains will stop at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bubaneswar, Khurda Rd, Brahmapur, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada and Warangal stations in both directions.

To cater to the rush of pilgrims during Shravani Mela at Tarakeswar, Eastern Railway will run a total of 9 pairs of Special trains in addition to usual train services. Central Railway has decided to run o­ne special train from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai to Nagpur and back to clear the extra rush of candidates appearing for the RRB exam. The details are as under – 01097 Special train will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus o­n Sunday 13.7.2014 at 16.40 hrs and will arrive Nagpur at 08.00 hrs next day. 01098 Special train will leave Nagpur o­n Monday 14.7.2014 at 11.05 hrs and will arrive Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai at 23.45 hrs same day.
